Not sure how successful you'll be the first round or two in having the Kiwi paste polish take to the Aldens leather, as it is wax treated after being made. It took some time for me to get it to take the Pecards or the shoe creme. To achieve what you're after, I'd follow Allen White's advice (from the Alden store) to use the neutral shoe creme on your new 405's. This will "feed" the leather, but eventually will fade the color to what you're after color wise. Regards. Michaelson
