I read some of the Biggles books when I was younger and they are definitely worth looking for.

You've got the details pinned down pretty good. I've been looking for some over here recently too. They are a billion times better than the Indy books (with which I have been rather disapointed).

By the way whatever you do don't watch the movie and let it decide for you - it is bloody awful.
