Some thoughts on my Nigerian brown Akubra

I have fiddled around with this Bushman, taking out the original tight Raiders pinch that I had put in it at the outset. I had the brim cut to 2 7/8 x 2 5/8 instead of the usual 2 3/4 x 2 1/2. When I refashioned the front pinch to mimic that of the TOD fedora, I was amazed at how much it resembles that fedora. Especially the one Indy wears in the "bridge scene". I steamed the crown and elongated it (front to back) and this really changed the look of the crown. I think this Akubra is a real close match now, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonable priced Indy fedora. You just can't say enough about these 5 1/2 inch open crowns. As I have stated before, give me a tall crowned brown fedora and an Indy hat is just moments away. regards, Steve
