Hey. I always figured he was binding his hands to the rope bridge, so that when he cut the rope, he wouldn't fall to his death among the extremely ultra-rare Indian alligators. You know, the way a rider binds his wrists to the saddle so he doesn't fall off during a storm. Just my two cents.
