Your right; if you steam it too much, the hat will shrink unless its put on the proper hat block. Another thing you can use as a hat block is you head. I talked with many hatters about this issue and seen plus
used the proper equipment. If you dont have the proper stuff, a tea kettle will work with steam. Basicilly, just put a little steam on the thing you wish to reshape. Dont use too much or it will shrink,
especially if its around your brim area.
