: : To all of my friends (you know who you are!) Here is a quick note
: : to let you know what's become of me.
: : On October 25, my brother's birthday, my grandmother was killed
: : in a car crash, and my grandfather survived. We left immediately as
: : soon as we received the phone call. I have been here in Warner Robins
: : ever since, taking care of grandpa and keeping things running smooth
: : here as best I can. My parents and brother are going to move here to
: : live. Grandpa is okay and completely fine. It was really a shock to
: : end last year that way. I have been working ever since, and making
: : enough money to support my Indy endeavours.
: : I will be leaving on March 15 to live in Las Vegas, Nevada with
: : my best friend of 11 years, Steven Barnhart (my Jack Shannon). We will
: : also be attending the year 2000 Wild West Arts Club International
: : Convention, where I will be taking advanced bullwhip classes to
: : improve my (basic) whip skills. I also hope to make contacts which
: : would enable me to learn how to ride a horse (like Indy!). And lastly,
: : but certainly not least, I hope to attend some sort of college where
: : I would like to major in Geology (possibly topography of the American
: : southwest) because I was SO inspired by Ulla Tornaes and her adventures with Indy. I think a Geologist could certainly find enough
: : excitement and adventure as an archaeologist, right?
: : I sent Steven my copy of Unicorns Legacy in order to convince him
: : that we should make a trip to Utah to visit Sand Island and Mesa Verde. I would also like to hike down into the Grand Canyon. The future looks very bright!!! As a matter of fact, one of the last things grandma and I discussed was my going to Nevada and taking Geology. She told me that it was good and that I should do whatever
: : makes me happy. I will carry her advice with me for the rest of my
: : life. I hope everything works out.
: : P.S.- I earned enough money to do a little Christmas shopping,
: : too. I purchased a Filson travel bag, the Raiders holster, and another
: : set of Indy shirt and pants from M.B.A. in London. Now I have the
: : COMPLETE Indiana Jones outfit, with TWO sets of the clothing part,
: : (shirts and pants) and I had my Herbert Johnson Poet steamed into the
: : EXACT Raiders style, complete with the upturned side brims and the
: : front brim snapped down. It looks really sharp!!! I am considering
: : purchasing a 6-foot David Morgan bullwhip when I get to Vegas. (I
: : like to have my 12-foot for wraps and cracking, and the 6-foot for
: : target-cutting and such.)
: : I would like to have as many Indiana Jones adventures as I can,
: : and this is the best way I can think of to start. I hope your thoughts
: : are with me, as mine are with you guys. I promise I will respond to
: : this letter in a few days. (I'm using the computer at the library).
: : I'm going to check out Ignatius Donnelly's Atlantis: The Antediluvian World. (yes, I'm STILL on my quest for the lost continent!) I promise
: : that I will be a regular, full-time forum member again when I get to
: : Las Vegas!!!
: : Yours truly,
: : Dale Dassel
: : P.S.- I purchased Infernal Machine in December, but don't have a
: : computer to play it on!!! Steve says that a friend of his
: : has one that we can use. (Is it as cool as it looks?)
: :
: : P.S.S.- I think it is an OUTRAGE that they didn't get Jane Jacobs to
: : voice Sophia Hapgood again!!! I read the credits in the game
: : manual. (Tasia Valenza??? Who are they kidding???) Tell me
: : guys, does she sound ANYTHING like Sophia from FOA? Please
: : let it be so...
:
: Dale, you have my condolences in your loss. I don’t get the opportunity to post on the forum as much as I would like too anymore, however I am glad to hear you are doing well. Good luck out in Las Vegas, and have a fun at the Wild West Arts convention. I am sure you will find it a very enjoyable experience, and if you have the opportunity get the 6ft Morgan bullwhip you won’t be disappointed.
:
: Dan
Tomorrow is payday, and I'm mailing the check off Friday.
I'll be sure to tell you how it turns out. Thank you for your
condolences.
Yours truly,
Dale Dassel
