: : Although your thoughts and observations are very interesting, I personally doubt Indy would have been a mormon. After all, his Dad was born in Scotland, and was probably Protestant or perhaps (although also doubtful) Catholic. Indy's Mom came from Virginia, and was most likely Protestant of some sort as well.

: Hey. I agree that Indy was most likely not Mormon, but his father's being from Scotland doesn't mean he couldn't be Mormon. The Mormons were quite successful in winning converts in Northern Europe; one steamship line (the Guion Line) specialized in transporting newly converted Mormons to America. I always figured Indy for a Presbyterian, because of his father's Scottish heritage. The two major sects here in Virginia (my home turf) are the Anglicans and the Baptists. Indy himself seems to be a bit of a well-informed atheist to me. Just my two cents.

I'd have to agree with you on the atheist part...as far as religious beliefs Vs. Indy's career as a scientist and his fierce dedication to his work, plus the things he says in Raiders to Marcus about the Boogie man, or the way he shrugs off Sallahs warning, or he entire attitude in LC up until the end, if not atheist, than definately an agnostic or at least an unpracticing christian of some sort or something...uhhh time for bed.
