I used a pair of really sharp surgical scissors to make the cut. I bought the ribbon already made up with the bow from the hat shop affilated with Stark and Legum. You just sew it on-fairly easy for an old boy scout. Probably took me about an hour to do both procedures, but well worth it. regards, Steve
