I have a new lambskin w/cotton jacket, and I think that the photographs on IndyGear ( I don't know about Indy's diggs ) make it look a little darker and shinier than it appears with the naked eye. I took a polaroid of my jacket and witnessed the phenomenon first hand. I'd say the best way to describe it is almost like dark chocolate in color....suffice it to say, it's a very dark brown...
