patch/update 1.2 for Infernal Machine?

Has anyone installed the v1.2 update file for Infernal? If so, did it really make previous save files screwy like they warn? I already have v1.1 installed, and I haven't had problems, but I usually install patches so that I don't encounter annoyances along the way. Thanks.
