For whatever reason, they also dub the part in the truck chase, when Indy rams the jeep off of the road and Gobler yells "Ah, shit!" in German. I guess they just don't want to risk offending the German-speaking audiences. (You may not have known that that is what he says, but in Lawrence Kasdan's script version, Gobler shouts the big S--- word in English. I guess having him say it in German in the movie version just isn't censorship enough for the networks.)

What is ironic is that in the network TV version of RAIDERS, they don't touch the shots that show Deitrich and Toht melting and Belloq exploding! Yeah, I guess that's about the way it should be. It's not all THAT bad to display gory visuals in front of our children's eyes, just so long as we don't teach them to curse in German or what a Hovito warrior's butt looks like!
