Hey. This question came up a few months ago, and no one was able to put up a truly workable solution. I believe photo-sensitive algae was suggested, as well as some sort of floor trigger. Of course the floor trigger idea can't work, because Indy sprung the trap by merely waving his hand in the beam of light. Also, the trap seems to have reset itself after snagging Forrestal. Damn those Chachopoyan engineers! How do they do it?

PS I don't believe I've seen any pre-Columbian engineering feat quite like this one. The Mesoamericans were awesome builders, but I have a feeling old George and Steve just used their creative licenses. 'Course, I wouldn't mind having one of these traps outside my house to keep certain neighbors at bay...

: One thing bothers me in Raiders of the Lost Ark (believe it or not, only one thing, the rest is perfect). how the hell did the chachapoyan ancients have a light sensing trap capable of nailing forrestal when he entered it?

: I don't need a real answer, just some sort of explanation that I can use to explain this away...

: (trivia note for you trivia hounds, the character Barranca in raiders is named after the city in Only Angels Have Wings, which is in and of itself a pretty good adventure yarn.)
