Ford was never quoted as saying that there WAS a script. He made mention
of the problem that we're all aware of: the schedules of Lucas, Spielberg,
and himself.

I am unaware of any comments by Ford that the script was finished. I
know that as of Dec. 1st, the PLOT had not been settled, so it would
be highly unlikely, nearly impossible, for a script to exist when Ford
was on ET.
