I think the unbashed hat is the "preferable" of the two if you want to work it yourself. I personally prefer a higher crown and the preshaped hat is a bit low for my taste. All personal opinion here, tho!

Yep, except for a couple of things. First, I've heard lately NO good reports coming from the people who've ordered from HJ. :-( Stories of 6+ month wait times are too plentiful at the moment :-(

Second, I wear hats all the time, so quantity is a Good Thing. There's plenty of room for an HJ in my closet as all as a Custom Hatter (as soon as I get the opportunity to go through Rochester).

Frankly, the only thing "bad" I have to say about Miller is that they've failed twice to deliver me the cut I wanted, and I've always ended up with 2 3/4" brims, which I've talked about before.

These are very nice hats!
