The fact that 'Raiders' started as an action/adventure film, and then developed the fantasy element towards the end, was something that used to bother me a bit when I saw the film first. Yet over the years I have grown fonder of the idea. I wasn't surprised by the fantasy elements in ToD [heartless living human, flaming Sankara stones], and by the time LC came out I expected them. But maybe Indy did dream the last events in 'Raiders' after all, hmmm.
PS: Indy still has a chance with the 2nd ark!
