: : After much confusion and misinformation (all unintentional I believe) Peter did confirm that all jackets he made for the trilogy were 100% new finish lambskin. Any and all distressing visible on screen was the handy work of the likes of Mr. Noel Howard, with his sandpaper, brick wall, and boot polish.
: : The "napa" you can get from Wested (the predistressed jacket with the dryer and pebble treatment) is a soft, lamb-finished cowhide. While the material is not authentic to what is used in the movies, it looks good and has a more substantial weight to it. If I could only have one Wested, I would go with the lambskin. The cowhide is great if you plan on a second.

: I'm sure that I have the lambskin, but Peter did write "napa" on the
: orders. Maybe they use the term "napa" for any leather that RESEMBLES
: napa leather? BTW, do you know if Wested's supplier uses an aniline
: dye? Also, what is the cowhide with a lambskin finish made out of? Is
: it a laminate? Fall Guy

It must be a holiday weekend. Sorry, but "napa" is the new finish lambskin. The cowhide is "nauga". Man! Altzheimers really sucks when you're 36!
Cheers!
