HELP!!! On Fate of atlantis game!

Ok, I don't know if any of you had this problem, but my sound thing is totally messed up. It will work for thr first couple of words, then go out, and the people mouths will then be moving. Then it will freeze up. I have all the requirements for the game, including the sound card. I looked under the trouble shooting thing they give you, but I still don't know what to do. Does it have to do with the "Port, IRQ, and Buffer numbers"? I don't know what to type in on them, so that might be the problem. has anyone else had this problem, and if so how did you fix it? I would really appreciate if you guys could help me out. Thanks a bunch!!!
