Why would I even want to doubt this?

It all seems likely, why else would Ford completely leave the Jack Ryan franchise? I have to admit though, 1959 does sound inaccurate. Maybe the guy meant 1949. 59 doesn't leave much room for more than one sequel, as Ford has suggested. (Which isn't that unlikely, considering the "multiple" writers that are supposedly working on scripts.)

59 is also a little unusual considering that would make it 21 years since the events in Last Crusade. Forget how old that would make Indy- what about his Dad?!

Why would they set it that far off when it's only been 11 years since Last Crusade came out? (Which would set the film nearer to 1949.)
