I love the Wested jacket so much I've ordered another. Peter Botwright and company are true gentlemen.
As for the Herbert Johnson fedora, I thought the company representatives seemed sort of smug and condescending when I spoke with them, acting as if "another one of those" had called. When the hat arrived I was very disappointed in the workmanship: it looked as if somebody trimmed the brim with sheep shears in the dark and sewed the ribbon on at an angle AND bashed the crown and pinched the front OFF-CENTER---all for $300.
I recently purchased a Peters Bros. for $175 and I am VERY IMPRESSED with it. And the service I received from Joe, Jr. and Joe, Sr. was terrific. They really want this kind of business.
My experiences only.

: Well from what I hear the Raiders jacket from Wested is a good buy. As for the fedora, I've been hearing from many that the Herbert Johnson is the most treasured as far as the fedora goes, but this Peter bros one I haven't heard much about (and not even mentioned at Indygear.com). Is this hat really "all that"?
