Got a copy of "China" from Amazon.com (through IndyGear). Alan Ladd plays a guy named Jones in 1941 China, selling fuel to the Japanese. He falls for Loretta Young's character and comes around to helping the Chinese resistance. Not a bad movie. His pal, played by William Bendix, also wears a fedora and leather jacket. The ending is reminiscent of "For Whom the Bell Tolls".
