In Reply to: Hey thanks, Donovan. Now I know a lot more about digital cameras than when I started. (nm) posted by Austin Powers on August 28, 2000 at 15:15:48:
The best thing, in my opinion, about digital cameras is that the learning curve is really sharp because you're able to see what you did instantly. So you're able to determine if you're pleased with the results, or not, right away. So if I were you I'd just mess around and figure out what works best for you.
And Anejo Joe is 100% right - it all depends on what you're going to use it for - my dad just got some sick Nikon Coolpix 990 that's 3.3 megapixels, but he runs a design firm so he needs it - for me the 1.5 is fine because it's mostly for posting on internet and ebay and eMailing to friends. So, if you're looking to do internet stuff figure out what works for you in terms of load time vs. image quality. Id love to know how your camera works out for you, if my advice helps at all so keep me posted.
One of these days I'll get around to making my Jock custom figure (with pet snake Reggie) and I'll use my camera to show it off...
Cheers - dave
