: : : : In fact Indy's hat is a "Trilby" according to the HJ website, and the information I have recieved from them.
: : : : As one of the posts below points out, the fedora is a flimsy littles thing and was considered the "poorman's Trilby". The trilby is somewhat more rigid, and looks dressier...but, as our man Indy has shown us, with a little beating - It can be a piece of every adventure.HERBERT JOHNSON'S SUPERB RANGE includes many variations of the traditional English Trilby Hat. From neat formal shapes for city gents to roll-up travellers and flamboyant felts for the races, these hats are made from the finest furfelt which is long wearing and weather resistant.

: Here's what it says:

: It's hard to read the style names on the page there, but I think the one towards the bottom on the left is the "Poet". Its a high class store and they probably reason that if they sell it, it's a "trilby".
: Cheers!
