Mark VI bag strap

Okay, I have a mk VI bag (mostly because it is a little cheaper and in better shape than most mk VII's I have seen), but I need to put a strap on it. I know a lady that can make me one, but I need everyones best knowledge (or guesses) as to how the strap is connected to the bag and how it is supposed to look.
