This is Charles Lindbergh landing the "Spirit of St.Louis" in England a few days after he crossed the Atlantic in May of 1927. Just about everyone in the crowd has a hat and you can see that the high crown, wide brim fedora is very much in evidence. Also of note is Lindbergh's nickname, "Lindy".
