Indy´s hat

I mean Indy wears the hat he get in 1912 in every adventure. But he also bought several brown and grey fedoras during his live. T.e. in Venice he lost the hat he had in Princeton but then in Austria he had worn his old fedora. And he wears this fedora, which he get 1912 from Fedora, also when he is old (TYIC series).
What do you mean, does he had always a new hat or his great old treasured hat?
