Do you think goatskin is tougher than the cowhide? Is it too grainy? Does the color come out right? If I jumped off of a moving train and hit a tree which would tear first the goat or the cow? how did they measure up to your "nail test"? And I gotta give you your props Patterson, I have been on this forum for about a month, and your jacket expertise is what I base a lot of my own assumptions on (considering I have never even seen any of these jackets in real life).
