The color is lighter then the Wested, yes. BUT, the Wested was darker then the original. Neither is EXACTLY what the original looked like, but both were just about as far off - does that make sense? The original had a red tone to it under light, though in the dark you could not detect it very well. I also believe this is true to what we see in on film. Honestly, I got this particular hide because I like it.
