Are the MGM Fedora's any accurate or any good?

I've had a $40.00 Fedora since the Star Wars weekends and it pretty much looks accurate to me. But I'm no pro like the Indygear staff-members*Shorty's spine tingles at the thought of those crazed mad-men!* but do they ever wear out or anything? I never wear it, I just keep it on my desk 8-) I'm scared to even take it outside fearing it might fall apart from being so cheap. See ya, Shorty.
