Flight suits leather samples

I got the leather samples from Flight Suits today. I got horse, goat, and lamb. Man, this stuff is THIN! I expected it to be a lot thicker than that. Is it thicker on the actual jackets or is that how it comes? The lamb in particular seems rather insubstantial. Based on these, I think I'd have to go with goatskin. The horse is nice and all but it's not dark enough for my taste, and it's too expensive. :(
