: I’ve just recently acquired a 12’ whip of unknown materials. It appears to be a 12 or 16 plait reddish brown leather cut into very fine strips. The weave is very tight and uniform down the thong. When treated with Pecards, it turned a deep burgundy color. It is an Indy type short handle bull whip, where the handle is actually part of the thong. All in all, it’s a very nice looking whip. It’s definitely not one of those cheap "made in India or Mexico" types. What do I have? Any thoughts?
: Thanks

Unfortunately, with out actually seeing the whip, I couldn’t say for certain what whip you have. There are many whips being made that fit that general description. If you could post or e-mail a photo of the whip, I might be able to tell you more.
