More important than details and authenticity, consider practicality. Ask yourself why you're getting the jacket. Be sure you're expectations are clear. If you're Indy/adventure serial-inspired and want a leather jacket for your own adventures you don't want a Wested. It is a well-made jacket but, the lambskin is extremely soft and just thicker than paper. Seams are a little weak, too. It is a flimsy jacket for costume or dress purposes (the bi-swing back still needs work to retain shape, regardless the material chosen). I'm pretty active (minus the truckdragging, ravines, and various stuntwork) and my jacket has numerous scrapes, loosened seams, etc.; all within 2+ months. If durability and cheapness are important-- get the cowhide Wested. Look elsewhere if money isn't a limitation. Sounds like you'll get a sturdier and more accurate jacket (without authenticity stamped on it) with Flightsuits. There, like US Wings you can get details (more or less) in addition to a choice of material to suit your activity needs or preferences. It's not always the case, but here it seems true that you are getting what you pay for; cheaper IS cheaper. It's all a matter of making concessions with yourself. Leave Bottwright, Hack, Patterson, et al. alone. Thanks to them we as consumers have more options to choose from. Thanks everybody.
