: Indyfans!
: I'm getting ready to work on a project that will require me to have a decent, all-around knowledge of archeology.
: Can anyone suggest any resources (such as books, videos, websites, what have you) that could act as a primer of sorts for an novice who doesn't want to do the science of archeology any injustice by simply relying on what he sees in the movies?
: What I'm looking for is, perhaps:
: -a brief history of Archeology
: -a who's who of great & famous archeologists
: -some of the practices and techniques of Archeology
: -the do's & don't's of Archeology
: I know I can just hit my local library, or surf the 'Net, but I thought I'd ask my fellow Indyfans if they could help me trim the fat off my research time, and point me in the right direction. I hope some of you fine smart folks can be of some assistance. I'd appreciate any help whatsoever.

I'd try National Geographics' booklist. They have "layman's" book
on many topics including archeology.
