A better explanaion...err...explanation than the obvious?

When LC came out, I remember a few folks were a tad upset that the reason for Indy's fear of snakes (and, I'm assuming, monitor lizards) had been explained. But I think most of us have come to terms with it. At least he isn't afraid of rats...
