Finally found a source for leather bag strap material.......

Of all places, a pet supply store! I found a 1" wide, 6' brown leather lead/leash strap. Just the right weight, thickness, and flexibility. And, I found some buckles on dog collars that will work quite nicely. Strap was $20, buckle (with collar) about $9. Still alot less than ordering one from Noel Howard.
