Hey all. I'm just gauging the interest that might exist for my jacket. It's a Wested Raiders in new lambskin, with the satin lining. Size is 44" Long. It was worn only once - when I took it out of the box, tried it on, and found out it was way too big for me. So really, it's brand new.
Here's the situation: I originally ordered my jacket in October of 1999. And here comes December, and I still don't have a jacket. This is the second jacket that they sent me; The first was a 42" Long, which was the perfect size except when I zipped it up, is was about 2 sizes too small. This one was the replacement. Instead of making me a custom 42" Long, they were swamped with other orders, and they decided to try a 44" Long for me; The jacket was supposed to be just a bit longer, but should fit in the chest area fine. Well, it fit fine, but it's too long for me. It's a standard 44" Long, though - my dad wore it just fine.
I tried sending it back to them to get a custom one made for me, and Peter and Jerry were more than willing to do so. However, sometime during shipping, the "Returned for exchange" markings on my box were either removed or covered over. (I'm not sure which yet, since I haven't gotten my jacket back.) As a result, the British Customs tried charging Peter before they would deliver it. Understandably, they had to refuse. (And I don't blame them!) However, once the jacket gets back to me, I'd have to re-label the box, and re-ship it. That's another $40 out of my pocket, as well as a few months in shipping time (to and from) wasted. I've already spent $80 in shipping both jackets back to them, and I kind of don't feel like spending more. Heck, it took them 3 1/2 weeks to attempt a delivery - and I paid for a friggin' 3 day Express Overseas from the US Postal Service. Don't you think it should be delivered in 3 days? Me too!
I'm really just frustrated here. So what I'm thinking is that if I can find a buyer for the jacket at normal price ($250) plus the shipping to the buyer, I'd sell it to them, and then re-order a new jacket. Theoretically, I'd receive it a lot quicker.
Either that, or I may stop by FlightSuits and check out what they've got.
If anyone's interested, feel free to respond here, or contact me via e-mail. Or, if anyone's got any ideas on how to beat the shipping times/customs delay times, let me know. PLEASE. :)
