In my opinion, the hat looks great the way it is, not too tall at all. It looks just like mine does on me, except that I crused mine a couple of times to get the blockish, lopsided effect his had later in the film. Take a good look at your profile pics and watch the beginning of the movie again. Pause it when Indy is turned to the side when he and Satipo are talking just before entering the temple. You'll see that it's dead on. Hope this helps.
