There are three leathers offered by Wested on the Raiders:
1.) New finish lambskin
2.) Predistressed cowhide
3.) New finish cowhide
The difference between the two cowhide leathers is this; the predistressed has a soft finish to it which wears rapidly, while the new finish has a more uniform durable finish to it. As a result, the predistressed ages rapidly. Good and bad? Well, some have ended up with jackets that were basically devoid of any surface pigment after a year. treated with Pecards - right when you pull it from the box - seems to prevent this and gives you a very nice looking vintage jacket. The new finish cowhide is much the same as the new finish lambskin - it will take some time to get "the look".
Hope this helps - cheers!
