: : : I'm curious to see what other whip owners out there have to say about this...

: : Personally, I'm partial to the 10 foot length, as an 8 footer just doesn't give me quite as much reaction time for re-estabishing a new target area for a follow up "throw". (Wasn't THAT an impressively worded answer? (grins)) Regards. Michaelson
: I'd have to agree on the 10-footer being the optimal length. 8 is great for looks and learning. 12 is a bit too much unless you have the time to really practice. I can pick up the 10-footer after not practicing for a few months, and its just like riding a bike.

Good example, but I've fallen off my share of bikes in the recent past. (grins) The best comparison I ever heard from a whip maker regarding the differences between a 12 footer and the shorter lengths is like comparing a .38 revolver to a .357 magnum. Harder hitting and a little harder to control in use. That's exactly how I've found them too react. Regards. Michaelson
