When I ordered my first Wested a two years ago, I gave them my measurements and they translated them into a "size 42 cut 45". I asked them what they meant by that and they said it was made for a size 42 but with extra room for a sweater, etc underneath. The jacket I received WAS a bit big, but it did fit nicely with a wool sweater underneath in the winter. The larger size didn't keep me from enjoying it. However, with my more recent jacket I simply asked for a size 41, because I wanted mor snug fit like in the movies. This one fits like a glove, but when I put a sweater under it, it is definitely a bit tight. BOTH jackets have a tag which says "42". I have no idea how they do their sizing. I guess you need one for winter and one for summer... :)
