opening portals to destroy Marduck...or whatever...problem

On the last fight I have to open the green dooors and such to open portals to reality and weaken the bad evil dude...BUT I'm supposed to jump into to tube to swim down to the door BUT for some reason the tube isn't working and I can't swim down I plummet to my death...any suggestions? Have I done something wrong?
