He was a pretty-boy, up-and-coming TV actor in the mid-eighties who was goofing around with a prop gun loaded with blanks. He pointed the gun to his head and pulled the trigger, not realizing that "blanks" aren't necessarily harmless. There's enough force and gases from a blank round to cause serious injury and death at contact range. I know one cop who lost the tip of his finger to a blank round.
Let's be careful out there.
