Last Crusade missing scene

I got a Last Crusade programme from Japan and noticed on page 4 a photo of River Phoenix on the roof of the circus train.The thing that got my attention is the rhinos horn,stuck in it is a large bone handled hunting knife.
I watched that sequence just now and at no stage does one of the hired goons throw his knife.
