While it was a valid excuse ONCE (filming "Saucer Men From Mars" would've been a terrible idea), that doesn't account for the long delay from `97 to the present. George Lucas and Steven Spielberg could've gotten hundreds screenwriters to hammer scripts out by now.

I admire the fact that they only want to do one that is "great", but if that's the case, they need to quit treating it like a side project and focus all of their energies on it.
