Dale, the whip is as accurate as anyone could hope for on this scale. It's not leather, but it has a leathery kinda look. The weave of the material has a "12-plait" type pattern to it too. There's a plastic handle(which matches the rest perfectly) where the handle on a real whip is. And there's a knot where the knob would be and a loop that hangs from the knot.

So yeah I think it's very accurate, although it doesn't taper so it's the same thickness all the way down.
