I use mine quite a bit (10' MA). I live near a park with a large, open area that's perfect for practicing. I use it to get me out of the occasional 'jam'. I hike a lot, and there quite a few valleys and such where I go. It's great for climbing steep grades and the occasional. small cliff face. I also used it once to scare off two stray, wolf-looking dogs that wandered into my backyard.
