I have a US Wings cowhide VIP jacket, so I don't know if the goatskin version is exactly the same, but: the side straps on my jacket are closer to the bottom of the pocket, the bottom of the side strap is aprox. 1.25" above the bottom of the pocket (my jacket is a Small, though. Perhaps it's higher on a larger sized jacket?) and the rear of the side strap is cross-stitched to the back of the jacket (over the pleat) and the front of the side strap diasppears into the side seam of the jacket.
