: David himself says to keep it stored in light (not necessarily sunlight) to prevent mildew. He also advises it be hung on a WOODEN peg, NEVER a nail or anything as the properties of some metals could be absorbed by the leather.

You can also leave it coiled loosely laying horizontally on a shelf, but whichever way you choose to store it, remember to give a coat of Pecard's leather dressing.
