Barranca's Pistol

I was watching a new tape of Raiders on a big screen tv last night and I noticed for the first time that Barranca's pistol, at the beginning of Raiders, in the South American jungle, is a Remington 1875. I had always thought it was a Colt, but in the closeup of Barranca drawing the pistol, the light strikes the under-rib of the barrel, and only the Remmington 1875 had that rib. It's a lot harder to find Remingtons that Colts, so you gotta wonder why the went to the trouble.

Also, in the scene where Indy is packing his bag, the S&W looks like it has checkered grips. Never noticed that. Ain't big screen wonderful?
