"nm" stands for "Numquam Magnum"...

short for "Numquam magnum ingenium sine mixtura dementiae fuit" ("There has never been a great spirit without a touch of insanity."), from Seneca Philosophus, De tranquillitate animis.
It describes the posts of more than a few Forumites, I think!
