Horsehide is a terrific leather. I wish it were available in a thinner skin so FS could use it for the Expedition. In the A2/G1 variety of jacket, it works well. I have been a difficult convert to this way of thinking, but I am fully on board with the rest of the goatskin contingent out there. I believe it is as tough as anything else I've owned - horse and kangaroo included. Kangaroo might get a slight nod because it is a bit lighter, but it is sooooo damned expensive. I'd opt for goatskin.
